the old woman's birthday//// guess which one????

well it's friday again////// and to top it off it's mom's 5? birthday/////// hahaha she's older than me for at least 4 months LOL//////// she looks 35+ and i look 65+//////

we were going to go to the fillmores in Lake O tomorrow but the weather is going to be bad. so we'll just drive to salem. i have my 1st V.A appointment. don't worry it won't be as bad as white V.A .... at least i hope not. it's a consultation meeting for my ankle. if i see any cutting tools in the room i'll run fast. because we all remember what happened to harry bates. he went in to have 1 tooth fixed and when he woke up he was toothless. i'm taking the boss with me as added protection.

well as i said today is mom's B-DAY. so like all good husbands i bought her a mushy card and i got her a present. do you want to know what i got her??????????????????????????????????????? i got her a new set of tools. thats right tools and they are all in a handy carry box. she sure was excited........... and yes that is what she wanted.
if it had been for me it would have come off the SNAP-ON trk/.////////// i searched high and low for just the right set of tools. and guess where i got them????? AT WALMART//////////// thats right walmart. i went to 3 stores and walmart had the best selcetion.......

does that make me a red neck??????????????????????????? LOL ///// if you said yes it does, just remember you are all related to me............aint you lucky..... well mom was gone most of the day and when see got home the 3 little people were loud and cranky. we tried to feed them but these 3 are as picky a eater as you can find,my 5 kids would eat just about anything you put in front of them. not these little ones..... so we have a fight each night as to get them to eat. if it aint got pop,candy or other junk in it they won't hardly eat. kaleb has lost about 20-30 pounds since grandma suzie took over feeding time.

i hope that my 2 daughters that got me into this will update their respective blog's....i see that they have gpa and gma karcher in to this as well. maybe all the GPARENTS should lean on them a bit..... well i hope that you all have a great week-end. keep your powder dry. pop

home at last

well we had a great time at lake tahoe. it was clear and cool everyday we were there. we slept on a twin bed that bent in the center so naturally we rolled to the center. we had a wonderful time with speed and becky and the kids.

we got to take a tour of lake tahoe by a paddle wheeler boat. it was neat to go and see the lake. speed and becky paid for this tour. we ended the day by having dinner in one of the casino's. we took a haunted tour of frank sinatra's old casino. what a laugh. our three gkids had a great time and did fairly well on the ride there and to home. 11hours in a car and they did good.

tahoe has no snow, none nada zip none ..... not 1 flake the 5 days we were there. oregon is going to get snow this week again. i saw where texas is getting snow, but not tahoe. we traveled all the way home yesterday and i am glad to be home. it's nice to visit family but its nice to be home as well.

well sgt.ty lamb has headed for the sand box again. this time for 15 months. mark is close to ending his 15 months. when will this war ever end. i would like to do stuff with my kids but we are all soldiers, except for ben... i think he's the smart one of the bunch. i know that darci won't let me enlist. she'd kill me if i tried to talk to ben about joining. lol //////

as the song sings we are all enlisted till the conflict's over. i didn't know that the song had dual meanings. well i hope that all is well in your homes and that you gain 10 pounds this thanks giving. i know i did.... keep your powder dry and your bullets handy cause we are going into an election year. love you all, pop

fall has fell and so did the leaves in my yard

well not to long ago i said that fall was my favorite season. that was until today.... i had to rake and pick up leaves and decaying fruit. it didn't take me long but still it is manual labor........

grand kids can be fun or a test of your nerves. we are trying to get ready to go to uncle speeds and aunt Becky's for thanksgiving. Tate our littlest mischief maker decided he needed to use the toilette plunger on the throne. first he used lots of T.P. he put it in the toilet then he tried to flush. when it wouldn't go down he started plunging. when that didn't work ,we think that he reached in and grabbed a hand full. next he tried to wash his hands and the plunger too. the T.P didn't come off, so he started to fling the plunger around until it was clean. as you can see from the photos he got most of it on the mirror. aren't little people fun. anyway go ahead and laugh, we did. then the mess got cleaned up.

well tomorrow we leave for lake Tahoe. we have prepared for snow. but to our dismay, it was 70 degrees on Saturday at Tahoe. so we are going to go swimming instead. not really but it sounded good to say that. since the Texas have of our family are still having 70-80 degree weather.

oh yeah.............. the week-end....................

well it is friday night again. my oh my does the week go by fast when you only have to work 4 days...... as usual i BBQ'D tonight for dinner..... thick juciy pork steaks. mmmmmmm goooood. what is even better is the fact that the GKIDS that live with mom and i don't like BBQ'D meat, unless its hotdoggggggggggs. yuck-- i like thick juciy steaks even more.
we are having great weather here... it's raining. i can't even see the dirt falling to the ground like i did in Afghanistan, every time it rained we would get dirty rain. LOL/////// the rain here it clean and you can see all the way through it.
i have planned a fun week-end. first i'll get to sleep until 0600hrs. then i help the Y.M clean our church building. then its off to do hunny do's. re-organize the garage for the 20th time. then its off to the back-yard. rain or shine... i mean rain or rain i'll be cleaning. well i hope you all have a great week-end and have a happy thanks giving, we are going to lake tahoe... we'll play in the snow. i'll test out my new to me 4x4. fun funj fun. love you all,pop

monday morning and it's storming

good monday morning to all. we are having a good old oregon storm here today. high winds(not from me) and rain for the next week or so. thats what i'm talking about. oregon weather. not Afghanistan weather.//////////////// i got up to try to post some of the pic's i took before church yesterday. i hope it comes out correct. we'll see, you all know how much of a computer expert i am. LOL/////////////////

mom and i are excited about our new furniture. we found it all on craigs list.com .... i have spent a small fortuine on craigs list. i have purchased 2 vehicles, 4 tires and 2 rooms full of furniture. we only go to the expensive sites. you know the free site stuff. now if only we can keep 3 little tornadoes from destroying it all. we have redone our hard wood floors, put in new lights and furniture. next we'll redo the fire place. we built a new fence this summer. it's almost ready to sell, mom has done alot of painting too. you guys need to drop by and see our gussied up digs. well i post this and see if the pic's made the transfer. keep your powder dry. pop

it's sunday nite and i'd take a nap but it's almost bed time

well this has been a very productive week-end. a 4 day week-end too boot/////////////

on friday we went to bend to buy a entertainment center. it was a beautiful day in bend. 66 degrees and no wind. the drive across the mountains was great. the 3 gkids we are raising had a good time. and yes we did get the entertainment center. it's goes so well with our other craigs list furniture.

we go to church from 1300hrs to 1600hrs(1pm-4pm) for you non-militatry types. so i don't get to take a nap on sunday's. when we get home its fix dinner and alittle t.v and then 2000hrs and the gkids go to bed. we watch some t.v and its lights out at 2100hrs. i can't wait tell we switch times for church. oh yeah naptime for me////////////////////

watching others you love going through want you did.

Well it has finally happened. another one of my kids is going through the family curse. Automobiles, they are a curse to the family. my daughter with 6 kids has a haunted S.U.V and a soldier for a husband who is far far away. and a father who used to do the wrenching on their S.U.V, who is almost far far away. so she with 6 kids(some sick ) is going through HE-- with her BMW(big mormon wagon) thank heavens for good friends who come to her aid. GO 1st CAV////// here i sit with 3 working vehicles and she's too darn far away to borrow one of them. not that i'd loan her one //////// but it's the thought that counts.

i remember when we had all 5 of our kids at home. we went through the curse for about 5+ years and 10 or so broken cars. i figured up once that between buying used junk and parts to keep the junk running that i spent close to $6500.00, so i got smart and took my bishops advice and bought a new car. now i will only have 1 junker at a time and 1 good running car to get me around in.

when my wife and i got married, the first 2 1/2 years of our marriage i owned about 15 different cars. each time i traded or bought someone else's trouble i would sink money into each junker and sell for less than what i had in it. my lovely bride wasn't impressed with my horse trading skills. i have now perfected my so called skills and i do pretty good. i have trained some of my kids in this fine art of horse trading.

some of the rides i had were nice, and if i had those same ones today i could make a fortune selling them. or at least i like to think so. my mom used to call me the family horse thief. i never stole a horse but i did make some pretty slick deals in my favor many times. well, now my kids need to hone their skills and come up with better transportation. i hope that she gets her S.U.V running so she can get to all the places a mother of 6 needs to go. you all have a great day and i'll see you in the funny papers.

FINALLY FRIDAY/////////////////////////////

well it's finally friday. yeah thats right the week-end.................. but raising grandkids its hard to sleep in on saturday morning. i know my daughters and daughter-in-laws are probaly ready to string me up for that comment. but we have already raised our tribe and now we are suppose to do all the things we never got to do when all 5 of our kids were at home.
thank heavens for 2000hrs and the kids going to bed................ but if theres nothing good on t.v we go to sleep also. raising kids at 52 isn't as much fun as it used to be. i know that there families that have kids at home and they are older than me//////////////
as some of you know we here at lamb central are trying to buy new furniture and redecorate this old barn. i have come to the realization that all the sales happen between pay days. you know when your broke or when you have to much month at the end of the money.
we had spotted the entertainment we wanted as of yesterday it was still for sale. some body with cash on hand bought it this A.M. go figure, if it wasn't for bad luck i'd have no luck at all/////////// so back to the drawing boards we go, in search of the right piece of furniture. you know the one, it's the one between paydays when we used all our cash to buy a tank of gas and a loaf of bread for $60.00.
well it's going to be a busy week-end, and we will look for sales of furniture. so you guys all have a great week-end and stay sane and i'll see you in the funny papers. pop

first time blogger.......

well my daughters conned me into this. so here i go, i 'll give it a try. heck it wasn't to long ago i couldn't even find the on/off switch on my first computer. LOL....... my daughters kid me about how hard i hit the keys on the key board. i am really just getting even with my computer for making so many mistakes when i type. really these machines aren't so smart, heck i can make as many mistakes without its help////////////////// so i guess i'll try to add something daily. maybe this will be my therpy. if things go right and don't stress me out. i never bring a gun with me when i'm on this thing cause you can only guess what will happen when this machine makes too many mistakes.

anyway as i was saying, i am a lucky man because i was blessed with a lovely wife and 3 gorgious daughters and 2 handsome sons, and my son-in-laws aren't bad either. my daughter-in-laws are as good looking as my own daughters.

i have been married for 33+ years to the same woman. yes she deserves the medal of honor for putting up with me for so long. we have 20 grandkids. best looking gkids on earth. our score goes something like this, girls 14 boys 6. well i going to stop for the night,so you all take and i'll see you in the funny papers.
