tis the season --now what is the reason?????

well it's that time of year where retailers go all out for your money.CHRISTMAS is a big money maker for the retailers. here in Lebanon area i saw Christmas stuff going up as early as labor day. in desperate times desperate(retailers)people do desperate things. 533,000 jobs lost last quarter. no its not a recession uncle SAM tells us. but the retailers and laid off workers say a different thing.i hope that uncle Obama can do something to help us get back to normal.i am glad that i work for the federal government.they can't fire me no they can send me back to the war zone but they can't fire me.besides i make more money in the war zones of the world.

now its the Christmas season, i despise this commerical time of the year. i love Christmas cookies, church programs and ward dinners.i love shopping for my small family. just 29 of us at this point, but my youngest is having twins. show off////// i love getting together with family and friends for dinner and other festive things. leave the department store out of my house///////////////// Christ is the reason for this season//////// our savior came to earth to give us the greatest gift of all. the atonement is better than any retail gift, or catalog order. it is free. it is life altering. it saves more, and gives more than toy or store purchased gift ever could. i am grateful this time of year for my savior and his unconditional love. although i am that way 24-7 365 days a year. i am grateful for my wife ,who is the second greatest gift i have been given. she's an angel, she has to be to put up with me/////// now last but not least is my children and their families. i love sons and daughters. they are a joy to me. i love my daughter-in-laws and my son in laws. i love my grandchildren. i think i only have a couple of grandkids??????? 20 now and 2 in the oven. what a tribe. soon we'll need our own zip code when we get us all in one place. well i have rambled enough, you see whats most important to this old man ME//////// just kidding it is and always has been the gospel and my family. i hope that you all have a very merry christmas and a happy new year..... wait you can't be that happy you only have 17 shopping days left.

privatetilzation of our blogs......

well it has come to personal invites to see whats going on in the lifes of my kids and gkids. toooooooo many unwanted creeps watching our business. i say lets find them and hang them up by their little toes over a fire ant hill and smear them in honey.... well with each new item invented for personal use on the computer there will always be snopper's. so going private isn't all bad. you people in texas and in germany, if you lived in my state we wouldn't have this issue. because we'd be close enough to pester each other often.... but maybe thats why you all moved away from mom and me////// well at least one of my kids says i was the reason for my kids to move away. it worked //////// now i don't have to put up with pescty daughters and in-laws and gkids/// you all know how i feel about my family. anyway i wolud feel it a priviledge to be invited to your blogs. i love you all and which we were alot closer. pop

general conference oct08

well tonight is the first time in along time for me to be able to watch priesthood secession with the Bros of my ward. seems like every time i get ready to go something redirects me to do what ever it is. i look back at a time when my 2 sons would go with me to the ward house. what a wonderful time it was to have both sons there . but now my boys are raising families of there own, far far away. huh, maybe they are are trying to tell me something. and 2 of my daughters, who worship the ground i waddle on moved far far away too. what are you trying to tell me??????????? no don't tell me cause you might hurt my tender feelings. no just kidding. i realize you have to go where the lord sends you. but Texas, i don't think it was he who sent you there. i miss the days of going to watch conference together as a family. i mean what a treat, to go every 15 minutes and bring you all back into the chapel.fun fun fun, i only hope that your children don't do that to you.. heh heh heh???? its your turn now to police up your kids// watching conference at home can be dangerous, never getting dressed, watching in your p.j's getting up and putting the t.v on pause. while you go do whatever you do. sometimes i wish they had never invented DVR. but then again I'm glad they did. well i hope your conference watching goes well and you get a great big helping of the spirt in your home and in your lives. i love you all and miss you as much. happy birthday Aamon matthew lamb. later dudes.

out of the mouth of babes

well having grandchildren is great///// if we had known that grandchildren were so much fun we'd have them first...... talking to your grand kids is fun and also very informative. take tonight for instances. we call some of our grand kids to find out how the first week of school went. COOL they say fun . recess is neat one granddaughter says. one grandson says i like p.e cause you get to exercise ans play games. also we found out from one granddaughter that if mommy doesn't have any clothes on daddy will take us to the bus. LOL/////// daughter i don't want to know////////// anyway the more we talk to our grand kids the more we find out the more we laugh. we all go through this stage where your kids tell everybody what happens at home. they are so Innocent. they are honest. like mommy doesn't have clothes on so daddy takes us to the bus. if you don't want any family secrets out be sure to tell your kids not to tell a soul. then wait tell your youngest tell some stranger at the check out stand all the family secrets. red faced you smile and think of a million ways to get even with your little one. been there done that got the t-shirt. anyway we miss all of our grand kids and wish we were alot closer(mileage wise)well that's all i have to say about that. goodnight Texas and good night Germany. and to our soldier in Iraq. good morning. love pop and mom p.s today is our 34Th wedding anniversary, guess who forgot???? no not me shes got a romantic card. from her secret admirer.

twice stolen from the fillmores

Disclaimer: I thought this was a great idea so I stole it.

Here are the directions-
1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together or it can be a memory with Ben, Alec, Hannah or Libbi. It doesn't have to be hilarious or mucho importante, anything you remember!

2. Re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments. Or if you don't feel like commenting you can email me if you have my email address.

Let the memories flow.

Easter Bunny Gone Wild

well today is easter. the day we celebrate the resurrection of our savior. and in december we celebrate his birth. both days are filled with toys and sugar. today we decedied to wait till after church for the easter bunny to show up and hide all his goodies. well actually it was keri who hid everything. we took the Gkids to church. we got there late, but we made the last 20 minutes of sacrament. we talked to ty this morning for about 30-40 minutes. he is in Bagdad and is safe. well keri made chicken devan..... it was great, the fillmores were going to come down but deceided to stay home and do their own thing. it was a wise choice. that gave me an extra helping of chicken devan. LOL//////// thanks fillmores. i see where amyjo has a blogspot also. well it seems thats the only way we can all communicate with each other. we are still thinking about moving to texas. we are unsure because ty said this morning he and his tribe are leaving texas when he gets out. if lee and mark get transferred to another post it will be just the fillmores and us. we are going to texas to visit in april. i just looked at airfare to germany. WOW///////////////////// $1400.00 per person, roundtrip and thats if we got tickets now for a late summer flight. i hat eto see what it would cost if we got tickets a month in advance. we have been so busy with raising kids again that we don't have time for ourselves. by the time we get these little guys raised we'll be ready to retire. we use to laught at the jones in eagle point, because they would be at retirement age when levi left on his mission. we aren't laughting now//////// well i hope that you all had a great time this easter day. it's business as usual here. take care and have a great week pop......

beautiful day in oregon

well its sunday and we are having great weather. thursday thru monday we have got sunshine. thats right we are having an early spring. i suppose if it gets to 70 degrees for more than 2 days in a row we will have had our summer as well. we had the pleasure of the fillmores for 2 days minus ben who had to work. man i love being a federal employee.. the dirty rat stayed home and i had to put up with darci all by myself. now i know what he has to put up with all week long LOL////// not really, it was fun. i BBQ'D kabobs today after church. sure was good to bad the karchers and the lambs from texas didn't get to enjoy it with us...... for all those who don't know we baptized Kaleb 2 weeks ago. i had to do him 2x as his foot came up. so the second time i stood on his feet.so now he is a wet mormon. tomorrow is presidents day and we are going to sleep in(only if the grand kids let us).

i hope that you all had a great valentines day. i took extra special care of my valentine this year. do you want to know what i got her???? i an a true romantic...... i got her a new framing hammer, thats right a hammer. we were watching t.v the when a harry riches jewerly commerical came on. i looked at suzie and said i hope you don't think you are going to be getting diamonds. she said jokingly "ah just get me a new hammer". well i did as she requested. those things aren't cheap. i got new a hammer and i even put a pretty pink bow on it. she was very surprized. and who said i wasn't romantic. i even took her out on valentines day. we went to home depot and we bought a new toilet. we capped off the very special night by putting in our new toilet and putting on a new toilet seat as well. i don't know if i'll be able to top valentines day next year. i went all out this year. just wait tell mothers days/////////
well i hope that all you husbands take a lesson from me and try to be romantic. use youe imaganation, you could get your valentine something great, like maybe her very own tiller or lawn mower. i'll let you decide. well enjoy your sabath nd we'll do the same. pop

so much for new years resolutions///////////////////////

well its already the 24th of jan08 and most of us have quit doing our new years resolutions. which is par for the course. i personally never make them because i'll never get to start them before its over. so if your like the rest of the world don't waste your time making them. instead make goals for the new year, sounds the same doesn't it///// kinda the same but not.

well it finally happened. the other night i came home and there was this man in my kitchen. he said that he wanted to marry my wife. oh really, and what makes you so sure i won't drop you right here and now i said. he turned to suzie and said you choose. as we all stood there suzie was trying to say something when this fellar says pick me grandma, pick me. so the fight was on i chase this would be suttor around our kitchen island for 5 or so minutes or until i was wore out and he went to grand ma and said me pick me. we all laughted a bunch, grandma explained to tater tot that she was already married to grandpa. he didn't understand, but he kept his eye on me for awhile.

well this week-end mom and i are house hunting in the eugene-springfield area. we hope to sell our cave and buy a cave closer to work. 100 miles round trip daily is tooooooo much. we'll look for some property in the country. we are country folks and the big city is toooo scary. union creek or butte falls is just about right. but i don't have work there so we'll look in the valley.

instead of house hunting i'd rather be at the auto show where i could drooooooooul on new cars. LOL, not that i can afford one. i hate to house hunt unless there's a big shop attached to the property. we'll see what happens. so if my daughters update i guess i will too. so thats why i have done this. we are really boring people. bed time 8:30pm, right after the GKIDS go to sleep. you know that beauty rest is supppse to help. i must need more rest/////////////// bwe need to take up sky diving or roller blading on I-5, you know something to shock your system in to overdrive. well if you can figure out something let me know. chow for now. pop
